Traffic Engineering Services, Inc. of Elm Grove celebrated 25 years in business October 11, 2010. Wayne R. Higgins, PE, PTOE, TSOS, President and founder, hosted staff and spouses as they gathered at the office for refreshments and review of the nearly 100 people who have helped to build the company. Dinner followed at The Grove Restaurant. The original direction of the company was to serve other consultants, municipal, state and private sector clients in the specialty of traffic engineering. This has continued as the focus of operations. Recently, Forensic Engineering has been given more emphasis by becoming a member of Investigative Engineers Association and adding I-ENG-A of Southeast Wisconsin to the services offered for insurance, legal and risk managers to find cause and responsibility for insurance claims
Traffic Engineering Services, Inc. has joined the Investigative Engineers Association and is now part of Forensic Engineering Firms located nationwide. This is an expansion of our services and an offering to new clients for engineering investigation and expert witness work in the insurance industry and to Risk Managers. Wayne R Higgins, PE, PTOE, TSOS received a "Life Member" award from The American Society of Civil Engineers on January 1, 2009. It was formally presented to him at the ASCE meeting on March 26, 2009 We are pleased to announce that Mark Ellena, PE Senior Engineer (Civil) has joined us on a part time basis to help us with the United States Postal Service Distribution Center project. Wayne Higgins, PE, PTOE, TSOS President of Traffic Engineering Services has obtained certification as TSOS (Traffic Signal Operations Specialist) in February 2008. We are pleased to announce Jason Hock, EIT has joined us. He is a Marquette Graduate as of May 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
Jim Bojar, TOPS, PTP, Vice President of Traffic Engineering Services has obtained certification as PTP (Professional Transportation Planner) in May 2007. He is one of seventy certified in the United States and Canada. We are pleased to announce
James (Jim) Ito, PE. has joined us as a Senior Engineer. He retired from the City of Milwaukee in 2004 as City Traffic Engineer. He brings us significant Roundabout experience along with many years of Transportation Engineering experience.
James A Bojar II, Vice President
of Traffic Engineering Services, Inc of Elm Grove has been certified as a Traffic Operations Practitioner Specialists (TOPS), by the Institute of Transportation Engineers Transportation Professional Certification Board. James Bojar is one of only seven professionals currently certified in the United States.
Wayne R Higgins, PE, PTOE received the Distinguished Service Award from the Institute of Transportation Engineers Wisconsin Section at the December 7th annual meeting. Cecile Pieroni presented Wayne with the award. Wayne has been a member of ITE since 1969 and has been involved in all of the local offices, committees, and in the district office of Treasurer, as well as on the international Board for certifying Professional Traffic Operations Engineers.
