STH 83 Video Study
Traffic Engineering Services, Inc. was employed by the Wisconsin DOT through a Subconsultant contract to R. A. Smith & Associates, Inc. to provide license plate survey data of northbound traffic on STH 83 in Waukesha County. The project limits are from CTH NN on the north side of Mukwonago, to the northern limit of the R.A. Smith project, midway between USH 18 and I-94. A subsequent amendment included completing additional license plate survey information from CTH NN to STH 16. Initial camera locations for Day 1 were to detail travel characteristics for northbound traffic between CTH NN and the northern limit of the R.A. Smith project where the 2-lane roadway transitioned to a 4-lane. Sixteen locations were established to include both sides of County Trunk, State and Federal highway intersections over this 13-mile segment of STH 83. The second day of traffic survey was to establish two-directional through traffic information with cameras located on STH 83 immediately south of STH 16 intersection, and north of USH 18 on STH 83 and north of CTH NN on STH 83.
